Welcome
to Our Gang Jack Russells!!
We have been raising fun loving and sweet Jack Russell Terriers for about
20 years. They also happen to be quite good looking and tend toward the tri-color
short legged, short coated variety.
I got my first Jack Russell Terrier in 1986 in Upstate New York Spanky. He
was out of a tiny bitch named Molly and by a beautiful dog named Bandit that had been
imported from England. I didn't know what I was in for when I got him. That dog was
really part human. He could understand English better than most humans do and was
loving, compassionate, and always enthusiastic. He had perfect manners, was great
around all people, dogs and children, and really was an exceptional ambassador for the
breed. Thus came my love and passion for the Jack Russell Terrier.
Jack Russells are like having a BIG dog in a very convenient and cute little
package. Spanky flew all over the country with me and even vacationed in Puerto Rico
once!! The flight attendants always enjoyed him and once even moved us to first class
so that Spanky could have more room!! He was always attracting attention and drawing
people out.
Spanky is the foundation of my entire breeding program. He was a fantastic
stud dog and left quite a legacy behind. Our Current breeding bitches are direct
descendants of Spanky. Jasper is a grandson of Spanky's and Tucker is a
great-grandson, and both have been used in our breeding. Which brings me to
saying that temperament is of critical importance to my breeding program. Though all
of my jacks have been well trained and had a lot of time spent with them, they have great
temperaments to start with.
I have also always been enamored with the black and tan jack russells that I have seen
in England and in the horse community. Finally, we have added one to our family!!
"Sterling" was recently imported from England and is a real darling.
We look forward to breeding him to our "Spanky" line of bitches!!
If you are looking for a fun-loving and active new member of your family, you are
in the right place!! Just remember that Jack Russells need an active lifestyle and
lots of attention. They require a firm hand and early and consistent
training. Do your homework on the breed before you decide to add one to your
family. To learn more please visit the JRTCA web site. |
